2010 ALL-STAR TEAMS & SCHEDULES
**SUBJECT TO CHANGE**
Rev. 2/21/09
There will be two All-Star teams with 12
players each (8 & Under, 10 & Under, and 12 & Under) and one
(or two if possible) All-Star teams with a minimum of 12 players (14 &
Under and 18 &
Under). Number of teams in 14U & 18U will be determined by how
many pitchers and girls show up at tryouts. There
is no All Star team in the 6 & Under T-Ball age group.
TRY-OUT ELIGIBILITY: Players
are eligible to try out for All-Stars ONLY in the age group she played in
during the season. All players must play in at least 75% of her
league games, be on the All Star nomination list, attend All Star try
outs and be able to make all three required All Star tournaments (see
below), to be considered for All Stars. Note: Elementary year round
school students may be required to miss school for one or more of the
tournaments. All exceptions to these situations must be cleared through
the OMGS Board of Directors before the player is allowed to be selected
as an All Star.
COACH SELECTION: If you are
interested and willing to commit to coaching All Stars, please contact
Leslie Scott, All Star Director or any Board member. Notice must be given by Saturday, May 1, 2010
if a coach would like to be considered for All Stars. Coaches in all
age groups will be selected by the OMGS Board of Directors by
Saturday May 8th, 2010. To assist the
Board, each potential coach will be evaluated using the OMGS All Star
Coach's evaluation Form. This evaluation will assist the Board in
making final determination. All Star
coaches are allowed to scout players that are on the All Star Nominee
List by watching games, viewing official scorebooks, etc. All
coaches are responsible to work together and plan out their own age
group try-outs.
PLAYER NOMINATIONS: Every
head coach will nominate all eligible players that are interested in
trying out from his/her 2010 league team. All nominated players must meet
all
of the try-out eligibility requirements above and be able to commit to
becoming an All Star. Coaches: Please discuss the time
commitment for All Stars with the Player and Parents prior to placing
her name on the All Star nomination list. Please do not nominate
your whole team. Coaches and players on each All
Star team depend on all players giving 100% commitment to All Stars. If
it is determined that a player chosen for All Stars does not make a
reasonable effort to attend practices or misses any required tournament
games (except for unforeseen illness or circumstances), that player will
NOT be eligible to try out for 2011 season All Stars.
Nominations are to be turned in on by May 15.
It is the coach's responsibility to turn in the nomination form to any
OMGS Board Member by this date. All players on the All-Star
Nominee List will be invited to All-Star Try-Outs on Saturday, May 22
at Centennial Park.

Board of Directors will supervise try-outs and expect coaches to select
the top players in each age group.
