TEAM INFORMATION
The 2010 OMGS Season lasts ten weeks and
is scheduled to begin the week of Monday, April 6, 2010, and end on Saturday, June 12,
2010. Coaches will be given team rosters at the coaches
meeting on March 13th and are encouraged to call players and start
practices.
Regular
season games to be scheduled Monday through Saturdays. The end of the
season tournament and closing ceremonies schedule will be handed out
with regular season schedules at the Team Mom Meeting. All games will
be played "as scheduled", including make-up games and game completions.
Schedules are available below to download.
HOME TEAM:
Home teams will be listed first on the schedules and be responsible to
keep the official scorebook for the game. The official scorebooks are
located in the snack shack at the start of the game and are to be
returned after each game. Official scorekeepers must sit as close to
the umpire as possible and identify themselves. The official scorebooks
will be made available to any of the Board of Directors and All-Star
coaches, if necessary. Visiting teams can also keep a scorebook in case
questions arise, however, it will be up to the umpire to make the final
call.
Home teams are also responsible to have the field chalked at least five
minutes before game time. Instructions for chalking the field will be
given to each team at the Team Mom Meeting and is also available in the
ASA rulebook.
After each game, the home team coaches must report their game scores to
any OMGS Board of Director and make sure the score is written down in
the Snack Shack.
VISITING TEAM:
Visiting teams will be listed second on the schedules and the visiting
team that is the last game of the day is responsible to clean up the
field they played on. This includes cleaning out both dugouts of all
trash and debris, making sure the field is clean of any trash and
cleaning on and around both bleachers for that field. Please throw away
all garbage and then take garbage bags from cans and put in large trash
containers in the north parking lot. Riverton City does not have park
staff do take care of garbage and park clean up anymore. If we don’t
keep the park clean, we may lose the privilege of using these fields.
If everyone cleans up after himself or herself, it will make the job a
lot easier. Please help OMGS keep our fields clean.
MAKE-UP AND INCOMPLETE GAMES:
Games that have started and have to be called because of inclement
weather or darkness will not be replayed but will be completed at a
later date. EXCEPTION: If 75% of the game time has elapsed and the
inning is complete, or the home team is ahead and up to bat, the game
will become a complete game. Make-up games or game completions will be
scheduled as soon as possible and could be scheduled on Friday and
Saturdays. If games are
rescheduled, the make-up game day and time will be emailed to coaches
and listed on the homepage of this website only. Contact your Age Group
Director with any questions.
TIE GAMES:
Games that are tied when time has expired and the inning has been
completed will remain a tie. Each team will be given 1/2 game in the
standings.
